So…who are we?

About Us

We’re Megan & Drikus,

Met when we were 15 got married in March 2013.  Now  I guess you could call us travellers, explorers. We’ve done a fair bit of travelling in the past. But, over the next six months, we plan on road tripping all across the USA. We’re super excited, a little bit nervous and can’t wait to see what sort of adventures we’ll have over the next few months.

We were both born in South Africa, our parents migrated overseas and we now call Australia home.  Perth is where we have both lived the past 8 years. Every opportunity we get we find ourselves exploring new places. When we travel in Australia we usually camp as accommodation can be expensive and the most beautiful places are 99% of the time in the middle of nowhere. We might share more about our previous road trips in the future.

There are several blogs and websites that have inspired us and given us ideas about what we would like to do and where we would like to go. We are limited to 6 months and would like to see as much as we can.

This website is for family and friends to keep up to date with our adventure and anyone else who wants to follow our journey.

We look forward to sharing all of these adventures, stories and photos with you through this blog.

Lots of love,

The Cronjes

Hello! Just about to become a full-time motorhome resident & HATE the decor….so tips on the flooring install would be great…I am already the queen of spray paint!

My family is in Michigan…my mom used to own a winery north of Traverse City, next door to Ciccone Vineyards & Winery (Madonna’s Dad & Step-mom…super nice people). If you get up to Traverse City, the Cherry Festival starts soon…look up my sister, Julie, who owns Salon Elan on Union St.

I worked a summer at Cedar Point, as well.

If/when you get to Oregon, I will be moving to Depoe Bay (the whale watching capitol of Oregon), so stop by…there is plenty of parking for your vehicle, so feel free to contact me. My boyfriend is a winemaker & has worked in NZ, although his only experience with Australia was the Sydney airport.

      Hi Jill!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment!

For our floors, we used Traficmaster Allure flooring, you can get it from most Home Depots. It’s really easy to use, you just click and stick it. There are a tonne of videos on YouTube that explain it in more detail. We saw that other RV-ers have used it before. It’s fantastic because it’s waterproof so you don’t have to worry about ply wood rotting.

Hi Megan love the rv revamp absolutely amazing. I own a 16yr old touring van in the uk and want to update the decor. Can you please tell me what paint you’ve used and did you paint on the original wall coverings?
    Thanks
