New Orleans

Ahhh NOLA (New Orleans), I’m not 100% sure how I feel about you. I think there is a lot of culture there, and if I had more time I’d have liked to stay a bit longer to explore you a bit more. However, that is not the case when you have a goal of reaching all 50 states in a short 6 months.

We parked our RV in a Walmart parking lot and got out our bikes. We then cycled through the suburbs of New Orleans to get to French Quarter. You see a lot more on a bike, especially when you have to go the suburbs. There was a part of me that felt a bit uneasy.

Once we got to where the tourists were I felt a lot better. Although, at the back of my mind, I was really nervous about leaving our RV in the ‘burbs.

We spent a good two hours cycling around the streets. We saw the Mississippi river for the first time! That was really cool. There were people playing music, mainly Jazz which was sweet. Heaps of amazing bars. We stopped at a pub and shared some fries and a couple of beers.

Unfortunatly, we didn’t take as many photos as I would have liked. It’s hard carrying around an SLR when you’re on a bicycle! Trust me.

But here are a few snaps of our time in New Orleans!

New-Orleans-1

I know, I know, not even photographic evidence that we went down Bourbon Street. We did! I swear! Maybe we’ll have to go back one day and do a better job of our photography!
